
This elf's house was constructed
from an old mesquite log, then the addition was sculpted
out of clay
and fired in a kiln There are lights in the fireplace and in the
top of the log.
Part of the roof lifts off so you can see inside, as in the second
photo above.
The front and back
doors are working doors and were hand carved with floral designs - each
of the handles is a
carved leaf.



You will have to guess what some of the other materials are that
were
used for this project!
-but we will tell you if you guess right :)


Here's some close-ups of the doors and the window planter. There
is also a "wood spirit"
face carved in the front of the house, up near the top, but he was
apparently hiding when
the photos were taken.
